Porter is sentenced for murder, assaults
Darrek Jerome Porter, 18, of Deer River, was sentenced Monday in Itasca County District Court for one count of felony second-degree murder and three counts of felony second-degree assault, according to a press release from the Itasca County Attorney Office.
Porter was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Porter stabbed to death Terrell Lee Wilson, 17, of Ball Club, and assaulting with a knife three other males in a Jan. 11 incident.
Porter was 17 years old when he was charged Jan. 13 in Itasca County Juvenile Court with two counts of felony second-degree murder and three counts of felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon against three other males.
He was certified as an adult April 25.
