Police Report for March 22
The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following reports:
3:37 a.m. Wednesday, 2800 block of Pine Ridge Avenue Northwest. Loud noise complaint.
10:35 p.m. Tuesday, 2300 block of Calihan Avenue Northeast. A vehicle was reported taking photographs of a residence.
4:04 p.m. Tuesday, Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. Gas was siphoned out of vehicles during the night.
3:54 p.m. Tuesday, P.O. Box 741. Identity theft was reported.
2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Walmart. An employee reported shoplifters left the store in a vehicle with a basket full of merchandise and did not pay for it. Officers located the vehicle and identified the occupants. The occupants had a receipt for all of the merchandise in the car. The store staff later stated the employee mistakenly assumed the customers were shoplifting because they refused to show the employee the receipt upon leaving the store.
9:55 a.m. Tuesday, Beltrami Avenue Northwest. A sculpture was damaged.
10:50 a.m. Tuesday, 1300 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. A caller reported possible fraud or unauthorized use of funds belonging to a volunteer organization. The caller stated the organization decided to handle the investigation internally.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following reports:
6:38 p.m. Tuesday, Puposky. A woman reported her ex-boyfriend was shooting rubber bands and tormenting their kids.
3:31 p.m. Tuesday, Kelliher. A student reportedly wanted to fight another student after school.
2:20 p.m. Tuesday, Elliot Road Northeast. A vehicle trailer was taken from a yard in Turtle River Township sometime over the last six months.
2:31 a.m. Tuesday, Beltrami County Jail. An inmate reported a theft.
