Police Report

The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:

Thefts

8:13 a.m. Monday, 400 block of Irvine Avenue Northwest. Theft from vehicle.

6:36 p.m. Sunday, 1000 block of Paul Bunyan Drive South. The owner of a laptop computer forgot the device was on top of his vehicle as he drove away. He did not find the computer later and believes it was stolen.

3:21 p.m. Sunday, 1700 block of America Avenue Northwest. Theft from vehicle.

8:15 a.m. Sunday, 900 block of 15th Street Northwest. Items from a garage and vehicle were reportedly stolen.

4:15 p.m. Saturday, 2500 block of Hannah Avenue Northwest. A cell phone was stolen.

10:52 a.m. Saturday, Orton's Food Mart. Gas drive-off.

1:05 a.m. Saturday, 100 block of Third Street Northwest. An Apple iPhone and wallet were stolen from a table in a bar.

Drugs

8:33 p.m. Sunday, 2600 block of Delton Avenue Northwest. Officers found drug paraphernalia after responding to a party. A 19-year-old person was arrested for possessing narcotics.

Other

5:20 p.m. Sunday, Bemidji State University. Two people were stuck in an elevator.

Property damages

4:38 p.m. Sunday, Beltrami Avenue Northwest. A vehicle's window was broken.

12:32 p.m. Sunday, 900 block of Irvine Avenue Northwest. A vehicle was damaged.

8:57 a.m. Sunday, 2900 block of Ridgeway Avenue Northwest. An apartment window was broken.

8:25 a.m. Sunday, 400 block of Beltrami Avenue. A caller reported a garbage dumpster and an oil drum had been knocked over in an alley, with oil running toward a storm drain. Safety cones were placed around the spill area. The Bemidji Fire Department and Bemidji's street department were notified of the spill.

4:08 a.m. Sunday, 2900 block of Ridgeway Avenue Northwest. A vehicle was reported damaged. A 24-year-old man was arrested for violating a no-drink order.

2:26 a.m. Sunday, 100 block of Fifth Street Northwest. A window was broken.

Disorderly conducts

8:06 a.m. Sunday, 2900 block of Ridgeway Avenue Northwest. An intoxicated woman was reportedly banging on apartment doors. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

Fraud

10:09 a.m. Saturday, 1000 block of Seventh Street Southeast. A Craigslist scam was reported. The complainant was advised not to cash the $2,700 check sent to him for a $200 freezer.

Drugs

8:29 p.m. Sunday, Whiting Road Northwest. A complainant received a text message soliciting narcotics.

Thefts

6:11 p.m. Sunday, Irvine Avenue Northwest. Fuel was stolen.

2:26 p.m. Sunday, Cardinal Road Northwest. A ring was stolen.

6:06 p.m. Saturday, Pleasant Valley Road Northwest, Puposky. A homemade, pull-behind trailer was stolen from a residence in Nebish Township.

Burglaries

4:02 p.m. Sunday, Irvine Avenue Northwest, Puposky. A burglary was reported.

9:41 p.m. Saturday, Lumberjack Road Northeast, Puposky. Several items were taken from a utility shop in Alaska Township.

Littering

1:45 p.m. Sunday, 23rd Street Southeast. Illegal dumping.

Property damage

11:04 a.m. Sunday, Becida Road Northwest. A blue sign and a culvert were damaged. A license plate was left at the scene.

Weapon offense

7:33 a.m. Sunday, Allens Bay Drive Southeast, Cass Lake. Four different callers reported hearing gunshots being fired. Deputies were unable to locate the source of the shots.

Drugs

3:06 a.m. Sunday, Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. A driver was placed under arrest for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Missing person

12:37 a.m. Sunday, Fairview Lane Northwest. Sanford Bemidji Medical Center reported an employee had not shown up for her last two shifts and could not make contact with her. The woman was later located by deputies at her residence.
