Police make arrest in Grand Forks sex assault
GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- A 20-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with an apartment break-in that allegedly lead to robbery and sexual assault.
Antonio Raheem Matthews, of Grand Forks, was arrested just before 10 p.m. Tuesday and charged with two counts of gross sexual imposition, according to a press release issued this morning from the Grand Forks Police Department. The investigation is still ongoing and other charges are possible.
Police responded to an apartment building early Monday after a man reportedly broke into an apartment north of the University of North Dakota campus through a sliding glass door. The man showed a gun, demanded money and sexually assaulted two women before fleeing, police said.
The women were taken to Altru Hospital but did not need treatment for any serious physical injury.
