Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp said the vehicle, identified by parts found at the scene of the accident, has front-end damage. The color swatch at left represents the color of the vehicle, according to a press release from Beltrami County emergency management director Beryl Wernberg.

Police also learned more Thursday about the whereabouts of Strong in the 24 hours that preceded his death, but Hodapp declined to elaborate citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Strong’s body was found at the intersection of Grange and Nature roads just before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. A newspaper carrier for The Pioneer made the discovery and called police.

Anyone with information regarding Strong’s death, or the vehicle police are seeking, is urged to call the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office at 333-9111. For those who wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS [8477], www.crimestoppersmn.org, or by texting TIP674 plus a message to CRIMES [274637].
