Police Report

The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following reports:

Accident

2:39 a.m. Friday, 11th Street and Maurice Avenue Northwest. One-car accident reported; occupants left the scene. Vehicle owner later located and spoken with.

Thefts

12:53 a.m. Friday, 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive. Theft of food.

8:10 p.m. Thursday, Walmart. Adult male shoplifter.

5:25 p.m. Thursday, 16th Street and America Avenue Northwest. Report of theft of a firearm from a vehicle.

12:03 p.m. Thursday, 400 block of Pioneer Street Southeast. A chain saw was reported stolen.

9:46 a.m. Thursday, 900 block of Industrial Park Drive Southeast. The possible theft of two firearms was reported.

10:40 p.m. Wednesday, 1100 block of Rice Avenue Northwest. Theft of a political sign was reported.

7:19 p.m. Wednesday, Murphy Oil USA. Gas drive-off theft reported.

6:01 p.m. Wednesday, Walmart. Adult male shoplifter.

5:59 p.m. Wednesday, 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. Gas drive-off theft reported. Suspect had a receipt showing he had paid for the gas.

4:56 p.m. Wednesday, Marketplace Express. Gas drive-off theft reported.

Assault

11:20 p.m. Thursday, First Street East. Officers responded to a report of a fight. Two adults were arrested.

2:28 a.m. Thursday, 100 block of Third Street Northwest. Report of an assault outside bar. One male individual arrested for disorderly conduct.

2:41 p.m. Wednesday, Ridgeway Avenue Northwest. A caller reported that a male individual had shoved a female individual. Neither was located.

Disturbing the peace

10:42 p.m. Thursday, 1300 block of America Avenue Northwest. Caller reported hearing yelling and breaking glass in the alley. A juvenile was located and spoken to about smashing an old television in a trash bin.

2:53 a.m. Wednesday, 1400 block of Third Street Southeast. Report of three female individuals urinating in the caller’s yard and being loud. Unable to locate.

Disorderly conduct

12:06 p.m. Thursday, Bemidji Middle School. Possible assault.

1:09 a.m. Thursday, Third Street and Beltrami Avenue Northwest. An intoxicated male individual was nearly struck by a vehicle while stumbling in the roadway. He was given a courtesy ride home.

Harassment

8:57 p.m. Thursday, Carter Circle Southeast. Complainant received threats via text messages.

Property damage

10:20 p.m. Wednesday, Birchmont Drive Northeast. A female individual reported that her vehicle and several others had been egged. The vehicle was not damaged. Extra patrol was provided in the area.

Accident

7:39 a.m. Wednesday, First Street Southeast and Paul Bunyan Drive South. Officers responded to a property-damage accident. Hours later, one of the vehicles was stolen.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following reports:

Vehicle calls/complaints

3:57 p.m. Thursday, Oak Hills Road and Monroe Avenue Southwest. Deputies responded to a school bus stop arm violation complaint. Driver was located and cited.

Assault

3:34 p.m. Thursday, 5600 block of Alps Court Northwest. Ongoing problem with group of kids bullying on school bus and after students are dropped off. Report forwarded to Bemidji School District transportation.

Theft

12:23 p.m. Thursday, Lumberjack Road, Shevlin. Report of theft of building materials in Alaska Township.

Property damage

8:32 a.m. Thursday, Tyler Avenue Northeast. Mailbox and post damaged by unknown persons throwing a pumpkin from a motor vehicle.

Harassment

1:38 a.m. Thursday, Solway. Harassing phone call.

Missing persons

7:07 p.m. Thursday, Scenic Highway Southeast, Pennington. Two hunters lost in Pennington. The hunters were located by family.

6:37 p.m. Wednesday, Eckles Road Northwest. Adult foster care patient reported missing; person was located shortly after report was taken.

Property damage

5:57 p.m. Wednesday, 200 block of Popple Drive Southeast. Two arrested for terroristic threats and criminal damage to property.
