Police and Fire Report for May 15
The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls:
9:55 p.m. Sunday, 1300 block of Minnesota Avenue Northwest. A homeowner reported an attempted burglary and property damage.
3:09 p.m. Sunday, 2100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest. A lost or stolen wallet was reported at Target.
5:59 p.m. Saturday, 2400 block of Ridgeway Avenue Northwest. The theft of a wallet containing $1,040 in cash was reported at Holiday Inn.
11:54 a.m. Saturday, 900 block of Carter Circle Southeast. An 18-speed mountain bike was stolen from a yard.
12:12 a.m. Saturday, 600 block of Minnesota Avenue Northwest. A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor theft, misdemeanor obstruction and violating conditions of release.
7:11 p. m. Saturday, 600 block of Irvine Avenue Northwest. A 20-year-old man was arrested on a warrant and violating conditions. He also was cited for possession of more than 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle. A boy was cited and released to a parent for possessing more than 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. A third male was identified and released at the scene.
10:12 p.m. Friday, 1800 block of Fifth Street Southeast. Kids were throwing rocks and bottles in a roadway. They struck one vehicle.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls:
6:37 p.m. Sunday, Northwood Road Northwest, Solway. A brush fire started after it was shot at by firearms.
8:21 p.m. Saturday, 2100 block of Roosevelt Road Southeast. A grass fire was put out by good Samaritans prior to arrival by deputies and Bemidji Fire Department. Firefighters added water to ensure it was completely extinguished. The fire appears to be an act of arson, but no suspects have been identified.
5:01 p.m. Sunday, Nelson Lake Road Northeast. A single-vehicle accident was reported. The driver was transported to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
5:44 a.m. Saturday, Irvine Avenue Northwest. A cell phone was taken.

12:14 p.m. Saturday, 1500 block of Roosevelt Road Southeast. Medical call.
3:03 p.m. Saturday, 2800 block of Ridgeway Avenue Northwest. Fire alarm, determined to be caused by burnt food.
8:20 p.m. Saturday, 2100 block of Roosevelt Road Southeast. Grass fire.
7:45 a.m. Sunday, 900 block of 30th Street Northwest. Medical call.
9:49 p.m. Sunday, Walmart. Medical call.
10:57 p.m. Sunday, Kentucky Fried Chicken. Alarm, unfounded.
11:10 a.m. Monday, Fifth Street alleyway. Medical call.
