Scam

Friday, 2500 block of Roosevelt Road Southeast. A man reported that another man had persuaded him to contribute $400 to the cost of a funeral. There was no funeral.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls:

Fraud

5:57 p.m. Friday, 1600 Birchmont Beach Road Northeast. A resident reported that someone had used his credit card number to buy a $266.33 plane ticket from Oregon to California on June 15.

The Bemidji Fire Department responded to the following calls:

6:32 p.m. Friday, 2600 block of Delton Avenue Northwest. Medical call.

8:37 p.m. Friday, 4000 block of Supreme Court. Medical call.

12:55 a.m. Saturday, 1900 block of First Street Northwest. Medical call.

10:23 a.m. Saturday, Shetland and Pinto Lane. Vehicle fire.

State Patrol report

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the following call:

3:45 p.m. Friday, the Minnesota State Patrol based in Thief River Falls responded to a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 2 near Bagley. Anna B. Meredith, 73, of Bemidji, was driving a 2009 Lexus east on Highway 2 in the left lane when she drove over the center line and sideswiped a horse trailer being pulled by a 2007 Four 1-ton pickup driven by Shirley A. Iverson, 54, of Scappoose, Ore. Meredith was taken to Clearwater County Memorial Hospital in Bagley with non-life-threatening injuries. The Lexus was totaled. Her three passengers were uninjured. Iverson and her passenger were uninjured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Three of the four horses in the trailer had slight injuries and were examined by a local veterinarian. The trailer sustained moderate damage.
