Pioneer taps Svingen as ad director

BEMIDJI – John Svingen has been named advertising director for the Bemidji Pioneer.

Svingen has worked at the newspaper since 2010, first as a graphic designer and most recently as production manager. In his new position, Svingen will direct the advertising sales team in its print and digital marketing efforts. Svingen is a native of Fergus Falls, Minn., and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Morris with a degree in speech communication. He worked as a graphic designer and website developer at the Fergus Falls Daily Journal and for N.F. Field Abstract Co., in Fergus Falls before moving to the Bemidji area.

He and his wife, Christel, live in Bemidji.
