Pioneer Previews for Dec. 23: Familiar face sings in chamber choir

BEMIDJI – Most of the Christmas musical events are over for Bemidjians, except for some church related events. But if you want to see a familiar face singing in a chamber choir, check out info@tucsonchamberartists.org. They have posted on their website one piece by Sr. David Willcocks, “Birthday Carol.”
Matthew Goinz can be seen singing at their concert, which was taped in the sanctuary of St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church in Tucson, Ariz. They are accompanied by a harpist.
The gala premiere of
“Beltrami the Middle Years,” a co-production of the Beltrami County Historical Society and Gary Burger Video will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at the historic Chief Theater. Comments, music and photos from those who lived in Bemidji from 1941 through 1961 are included in this DVD. Copies of this documentary and a CD of all original music can be ordered now through the Beltrami County Historical Society. Send a check or money order for $35 which includes tax and S&H to the society at PO Box 1190, Bemidji, MN 56601.

Mark Your Calendars for the New Year’s Eve family friendly events:
-- 4 p.m. the Bemidji Public Library will host singer, songwriter and guitarist Paul Nye for a family concert.
--6-9 p.m. Magical New Year’s Eve at the Headwaters Science Center.
