Pedestrian struck by vehicle on Tuesday has died

The pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle while walking along Fifth Street Northwest early Tuesday morning has died.

According to a press release from the Bemidji Police Department:

Douglas Albert Gross, 29, of Bemidji, died as a result of the injuries suffered in the accident. He was struck by an eastbound vehicle.

Gross was taken by Bemidji Ambulance Service to North Country Regional Hospital and then airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center. He died Wednesday.

The accident was reported at 6:06 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, on Fifth Street Northwest west of Park Avenue Northwest.

The Bemidji Police Department, with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol, continues to investigate the accident.
