Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, Hubbard County arrest man for growing marijuana

More than 60 marijuana plants were found growing in a Hubbard County residence Thursday during the execution of a search warrant. Later, nearly 180 additional plants were found near Laporte.

According to a press release from the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office:

The Sheriff's Office and the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force executed the search warrant at 9:30 a.m. on the 48500 block of Sunrise Drive in Rockwood Township south of Bemidji.

Sixty-one plants were found growing indoors and one plant was found growing outside the home. The property owner was not home at the time.

A second search warrant was executed on the 44200 block of Railroad Avenue in Guthrie Township northwest of Laporte.

There, 179 marijuana plants, a large quantity of leaves and baggies of processes marijuana were found.

Perry Eddy, 51, the owner of both properties, was arrested.

He was arraigned Friday and charged with fifth-degree controlled substance and possession of more than 42.5 grams of marijuana.

Eddy posted $5,000 bail with conditions.
