Patt Rall Arts Column: Monroe Crossing to perform bluegrass concert
Monroe Crossing, the "Midwest's Premier Bluegrass and Gospel Quintet" and member of the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the historic Chief Theater, 314 Beltrami Ave. N.W. The group named in honor of Bill Monroe, acknowledged as "The Father of Bluegrass," plays upbeat blends of classical and traditional bluegrass, gospel and original music. They have eight CDs, the newest "Live From Silver Dollar City was released in December.
