Patricia "Patty" Lynn Tuma, 57, of Pine River, formerly of Walker, died on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
She was born on June 15, 1951 in St. Paul to George William and Dorothy D. (Balsley) Stumbo. She grew up and attended school in Bloomington, Akeley, and later graduated from Park Rapids High School. She went to work at Ah-Gwah-Ching State Nursing Home in Walker. She worked in the dietary department for many years before working in the laundry department. After being employed there for 32 years, she retired in 2001 with a medical disability.
She married Glenn M. Tuma on Nov. 22, 1992 in Walker. They lived in Hackensack before moving to Pine River in 2007 where she lived since.
She was a member of the local state worker's union where she served as past secretary. She was also a member of the Red Hatters Luncheon Club.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Michelle (Mitch) Fields, of Lake George; two sons: Anthony "Tony" Allen, of Brainerd and Cameron M. Tuma, of Pine River; two grandsons; her mother, of Park Rapids; two brothers: Randy W. (Donna Jean) Stumbo, of Akeley and Benjamin (Mary) Stumbo, of Park Rapids; three nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral service: Thursday, April 9 at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids with 1st Councilor Jim Sabatinos officiating.
Casket bearers: Ben and Randy Stumbo, Tony Allen, Mitch Fields, Joe Frausto and Steve Clayborn.
Interment: Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids.
