Orlin R. Pahl, 67, of Hawley, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Orlin was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Morris, to Reuben and Amanda (Thielke) Pahl. He grew up and graduated from Morris High School. Orlin married Sharon Lachowitzer on July 13, 1968, in Vergas. He had been employed at the Morris Tribune, the Detroit Lakes Newspapers, and for the past 20 years at Davon Press in West Fargo, N.D. Orlin was in the Army National Guard for 23 years. He also was active in the Hawley Fire Department for 36 years and a member of the American Legion. Orlin enjoyed fixing John Deere tractors, collecting toy tractors, going to flee markets and antiques.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Pahl, Hawley; two sons, Jarrod (Deanna) Pahl, Moorhead, Scott (Susie) Pahl, Breezy Point; one daughter, Lisa Pahl, Hawley; two brothers, Randy (Judy) Pahl, Farwell, Minn., and Delven (Sandy) Pahl, Morris, and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 in Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley.
Interment is in Hawley Cemetery.
