Operations resuming at Minntac following accident

MOUNTAIN IRON, Minn. (AP) — Operations are resuming at the Iron Range's largest iron ore operation following an electrical accident.

A Minntac worker suffered serious injuries in a small explosion at the taconite plant in Mountain Iron Wednesday. Family members say 52-year-old Jon Malek of Tower is in stable condition at a Duluth hospital.

U.S. Steel says operations at the plant were in the process of resuming Thursday.
