One person dies in Highway 59 head-on collision near Thief River Falls

One person has died in a head-on traffic collision on Wednesday night one mile south of Thief River Falls on Highway 59.

The identity of the person who died and the three other people involved in the two-vehicle crash is being withheld until later today pending notification of the families involved.

A southbound 1996 Chevy Beretta crossed over the center line and collided head on with a 1997 Chrysler Concorde traveling north on two-lane Highway 59 at 5:47 p.m. on Wednesday.

Road conditions were reported to be dry at the time of accident.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office and the Thief River Falls Police Department responded to the accident.
