One person dead after Paynesville house fire

PAYNESVILLE, Minn. – One person was found dead after a fire in a rural Paynesville mobile home Monday morning.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Scott Vogelpohl, 47, the owner of the mobile home.

A passing motorist reported the fire about 6 a.m. The mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when the Paynesville Fire Department and Ambulance Service and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived.

When the flames were extinguished, a human body was found within the residence. The body has been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
