One killed Wednesday morning in rollover accident near Fosston

One person is dead following a single-vehicle rollover accident on U.S. Highway 2 east of Fosston.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

The vehicle was westbound on Highway 2 just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday when it lost control on the "Gilbertson Curve" and rolled.

The driver and a juvenile back-seat passenger were ejected. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

The driver was pronounced dead at the First Care Medical Services Fosston Clinic.

The juvenile suffered a serious injury. The front-seat passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a broken arm. Both were flown to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D.

The names of those involved have not been released.

Also responding to the scene were the Clearwater County and Polk County sheriff's offices.

The vehicle was likely totaled.
