One injured in dirt bike accident

A 13-year-old boy was driving a pickup truck while trying to "pull start" a dirt bike Tuesday evening when the rider of the dirt bike fell off and was injured.

According to a report by the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office:

A boy, who is not being identified by the Sheriff's Office, was driving a Chevrolet S10 pickup while towing the dirt bike, a Yamaha TTR 110, behind the vehicle.

Derek Port, 19, of Bemidji, was riding the dirt bike when he fell off and was injured. He was taken to North Country Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The accident was reported at 6:41 p.m. at the intersection of Carr Lake Road Southwest and Chapel Lane Southwest.
