One of drivers from Monday's fatal crash remains in critical condition

One of the drivers of the two vans involved in Monday's fatal accident near Bemidji is in critical condition.

Anthony Dwayne Calloway, 45, of Bemidji, was listed in critical condition Tuesday at Essentia Health in Fargo, N.D.

Calloway was driving north on New Bass Road Northeast about 1 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound van driven by Heidi Lee, 36, of Bemidji, according to a press release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.

Both drivers were airlifted from the scene. Lee reportedly was taken to Essentia Health, but there was no record of her Tuesday at that hospital.

There were two passengers in Calloway's vehicle. Dawn Marie Boyd, 47, of Bemidji, was pronounced dead at the scene. Richard Lee Jones of Bemidji was treated and released from Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

In the vehicle with Lee was her 2-year-old son, who was taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center. His condition is not known.
