Olive Delores Eickstadt, 81, of Tenstrike, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at Comforts of Home in White Bear Lake, Minn.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji with the Rev. Dean Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and will continue one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

She was born July 18, 1926, to Harold and Glendora (Dietrich) Gamble in Quiring Township, Beltrami County. She married Gordon Eickstadt Dec. 1, 1952, in Northwood, Iowa. They lived in North St. Paul for several years, moving to Nebish in 1968. She was very active in the Democratic Farmer Labor party. She was a member of the Beltrami DFL Executive Committee for many years. She served as chair, associate chair, was a delegate to many conventions, and served on or chaired on several DFL committees. She was an early inductee into the State DFL Women's Hall of Fame as a Woman of Distinction in 2004. She was active in the Nebish Willing Workers Club and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion while living in St. Paul. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Kathy) Eickstadt of Lino Lakes, Minn., Steven (Renee) Eickstadt of Hudson, Wis.; daughters, Jacque (Michael Carl) Richards of St. Paul, Chris Eickstadt of St. Paul, Robin Franz of Denver, Colo., and Jennifer (Allen) Coffland of Osseo, Minn.; four grandchildren; brothers, Bert Gamble of Blackduck, Wayne Gamble of Mason City, Iowa, and Pat (Doreen) Gamble of Keewatin, Minn.; sisters, Dorothy (Leo) Moore of California, Joy Mistic of Nebish and Barb (Bernard) Mistic of Nebish.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Mark Eickstadt; and sister, Ardis Paine.
