Officials probing possible poaching of trophy buck

RED WING, Minn. - Goodhue County prosecutors are considering charges against an area man in a possible poaching case involving what officials said may be a trophy buck.

"It's a very, very big buck," said a state official who asked not to be named pending charges.

Assistant County Attorney David Grove said charges could be filed this week in the case.

Rumors circulating on the Internet have touted the buck to be a world-record eight-pointer. Investigators are believed to be checking into whether the buck was shot by a rifle in bow season.
