Nymore meeting to address housing

BEMIDJI – A meeting for residents living in the western portion of the Nymore neighborhood is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at Bemidji City Hall.
The public information meeting is set to discuss the proposed West Nymore Neighborhood Housing Improvement Project.
The city is applying to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development for funds designed to improve the neighborhood through owner-occupied housing rehabilitation.
If approved, deferred payment loans will be available for eligible households to make home improvements.
To develop a competitive application, the city said it must document the level of need for program funds and interest among neighborhood residents.
Staff from the Headwaters Regional Development Commission will be at the meeting to provide information, answer questions and solicit pre-applications.
Households completing a pre-application will be given priority for funding if the city receives grant funds.
Those who can’t attend but want to discuss the topic can call 333-6530, 333-6536 or 333-6532.
