Numerous events highlight Homecoming Week at Bemidji State University

Today
8:30-10:30 p.m., Concert on Oak Lawn: Alison Scott and Kevin Bowe + Okemah Prophets. Free concert with free root beer floats. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to Memorial Hall 100.
Thursday
7 p.m. Film screening, “Pink Ribbons Inc.,” a documentary on the commercialization of the breast cancer movement.
Friday
9:30 a.m., dedication of Bensen Hall, on the front lawn outside of the Education-Arts Building.
11:30 a.m. Beaver Pride Luncheon at Walnut Hall. Jeff Tesch, BSU football coach, will give a preview of the Homecoming game set for Saturday afternoon. Cost for luncheon is $8 at the door.
3 p.m. Birch Hall ribbon-cutting ceremony.
5:30 p.m. BSU Alumni and Foundation Honors Gala at the Sanford Center. Black-tie optional, open to the public. For registration, go online to bsualumni.org.
Saturday
8:30 a.m. BSU/Sara Labraaten Walk for Women at Diamond Point Park. Annual 5K run/walk to benefit women’s athletics. For registration, go online to bsubeavers.com.
9:30 a.m. Bemidji School of Nursing brunch and school launch event at the American Indian Resource Center. The celebration will officially launch the nursing school, which combines the nursing programs at BSU and Northwest Technical College. A 10 a.m. interdisciplinary panel discussion will feature BSU alumnus Dr. Lee Norman, vice president and chief medical officer in the hospital executive officers at the University of Kansas Hospital.
11 a.m. Tailgating at Diamond Point Park.
1 p.m. BSU vs. Crookston, football game. $15 for reserved seating; $9 general admission; $6 students, alumni and seniors; $2 children aged 6-10.
Sunday
3 p.m. Carl O. Thompson Memorial Concert. $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, children are free.
