Norwegian pianist to perform tonight at Syttende Mai celebration

BEMIDJI - This year's Syttende Mai celebration will begin with a concert tonight by world renowned Norwegian concert pianist Knut Erik Jensen.

Along with his current long-term artist residency at the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada, Jensen is touring across the U.S.

He will be performing with the dual sponsorship of the Sons of Norway, Bemidji and Walker Chapters at the pre-dinner concert, which begins at 6 today at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2508 Washington Ave. SE.

The ticket price is $10 and children 10 and under will be admitted free.

The tickets will be sold at the door.
