Keep an eye on the night sky over the next few days.

The Aurora Borealis, commonly referred to as the Northern Lights, is expected to be visible in Bemidji during the overnight hours Tuesday and is expected to last through Thursday night.


The University of Alaska-Fairbanks' Geophysical Institute is forecasting moderate activity Tuesday night with visibility as far south as Bemidji.

The Institute is forecasting 'active' activity for Wednesday night and Thursday night with visibility as far south as Madison, Wis.

The Institute's activity scale ranges from 1-9. Tuesday night is rated 3; Wednesday and Thursday is rated 4.
