No relief from heat in Bemidji area

BEMIDJI - The Bemidji area remains "abnormally dry" while the northern portion of Beltrami County is listed as being in a moderate drought, according to the U.S. Drought Index.

Virtually all of northwest Minnesota currently faces an ongoing drought, but the seasonal outlook through September shows some improvement for the area.

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks, N.D., shows little to no relief for the coming week.

The high temperature is expected to near 79 today, followed by highs in the mid to upper 80s through next Monday. The weather service forecast includes a slight chance for rain Friday night.
