Blizzards for Sanford Health
BEMIDJI -- Bemidji Area Dairy Queens have declared today Aug. 8 "Annual Bemidji DQ Blizzards for the Sanford Health Foundation Day."
Bemidji Dairy Queens will donate proceeds from every Blizzard sold to the Foundation's upcoming Cancer Care project to enhance care and facilities for those living with cancer in our region.
Alzheimer's informational meeting set
BEMIDJI -- An informational presentation will be given on caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 24 and at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 25 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 2220 Anne. St. NW.
Pastor Curt Seefeldt, director of church relations for the Lutheran Home Association, will facilitate the discussion on diagnosis, treatment options, spiritual questions and family care.

Sweet corn feed and concert planned
BLACKDUCK -- The Sweet Corn Feed and Concert is set for 5-6:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at Wayside Park in Blackduck along Highway 71.
Sweet corn, hot dogs and chips will all be served. A freewill donation will be accepted.
Kent Dudley and Bended Knee will perform during the meal.
Preschool program scheduled
BEMIDJI -- Games, crafts and story time will be based off the book "Good Night, Gorilla" for the last summer preschool program 10-11 a.m. Aug. 13 at the City Park Multi-Use Building, 1351 5th St. NW.
