Sanford Health hosts bread sale

BEMIDJI – Sanford Health WoodsEdge Le Bistro is hosting a $5 bread sale from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 at Neilson Place.

The sale features Chef Ed’s Signature Wild Rice, Glazed Cinnamon Raisin, and Wholesome Wheat artisan breads. A portion of the proceeds support Neilson Place residents.

Harmony offers homebrew classes

BEMIDJI – Harmony Co-op’s Matt Tufto is teaching a three-part class on the art of homebrewing. Participants will be able to take home beer from classes. All classes are from 6-9 p.m. in the Harmony Co-op Kitchen. The first class was Monday, March 18, the second is March 25 and the third is April 15. The cost is $20. Register at the front till. Ninov exhibit in Talley Gallery

BEMIDJI – Ivan Ninov, considered the leading graphic artist in Bulgaria, is the featured artist at Bemidji State University’s Talley Gallery. His show is up now. The exhibit “Drawn from the Balkans” features a collection of Ninov’s drawings and prints. His style has been described as “monumental and harsh” while displaying strength and power. Ninov has been featured in nearly all art shows in Bulgaria since 1970 and his work has been exhibited throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. He was born in 1946 and graduated from art school in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1969. Since 1970, he has been featured in more than 50 significant exhibitions of graphic art and has received more than a half-dozen awards for his work. Talley Gallery is located in room 212 in Benson Hall on campus at Bemidji State University. Open hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. For details, call 755-3708.

Harmony Co-op hosts cooking class

BEMIDJI – Sue Doeden will have a cooking class from 6-9 p.m. today in the Harmony Co-op Kitchen. The cost is $10 and class size is limited. Sue will share thrifty meal plans that incorporate items from the fridge that usually spoil before the chance to be eaten. There will be a meal of the finished dishes and recipes to take home.
