Three mid-week hikes scheduled
E June 20: Hikers will meet at the Waboose Public Access off Inner Forest Rd. in Hubbard County, north of Nevis.
E July 11: Hikers can meet at the North Country Trail cross, five miles southwest of Walker on Cass County Highway 12.
E Aug. 1: Hikers are to meet at the NCT parking lot just off State Highway 84, eight miles south of the intersection with State Highway 200.
Hikes should wear sturdy shoes, bring water, a snack and insect repellent. For more information, call (218)675-5448.
City to offer summer fitness opportunities
BEMIDJI — The city of Bemidji is offering summer fitness opportunities.
Outdoor Pickleball starts 5-7 p.m. Wednesdays, June 12 through August 28 at Algoma Park, costing $2 per session.
Yoga at the Beach starts 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. June 17 through July 1 at Diamond Point Park costing $20 per participant for a three-week session.
Flirty Girl Summer Workout starts at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays June 11 through Aug. 6, costing $20 per participant for an eight-week session. This is a women-only workout program.

Roads closing due to construction
BEMIDJI — Construction on a bridge on Highway 1 on the Red Lake Reservation will begin today through Friday.
A long detour will be in place for those coming going west to Redby. Construction may take up to 10 days, depending on the weather.
In the city of Bemidji, sewer construction will continue on Wood Avenue SE between First Street SE and Third Street SE with access via alley or side streets.
Work should be completed by the end of the week, officials said.
