Language and culture camp planned
RED LAKE -- Red Lake Nation will host its first Ojibwe Language and Culture Camp for youth Aug. 13-15 at the Round House in Ponemah.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 13, 30 children ages 10 to 14 will be bussed to Ponemah to participate in canoeing, scavenger hunts, Ojibwe bingo, mocassin games, tobacco pouch making and plant identification.
Staff from the Red Lake Chemical Health Programs, Economic Development & Planning, and the Boys & Girls Club along with several fluent Ojibwemowin speakers, will staff the camp.

Class of 1973 reunion set
BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji High School Class of 1973 announces its 40-year reunion 5 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Wilton Liquor Store, 284 Spirit Ave. NW, in Wilton.
Dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. featuring the Wilton Liquor Store's Weekend Ribeye Steak and Shrimp or a pulled pork sandwich. The Wilton Liquor Store's regular menu will also be available.
A DJ will feature music from the late 60's and early 70's and taking requests throughout the night.
