Several congregations in the greater Red River Valley have affiliated with the NALC as a conservative alternative to the mainline Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The convocation of the NALC will be held Aug. 16 to 17 in Calvary Lutheran Church, just off Highway 55 and Winnetka Avenue in Golden Valley, Minn.

The NALC meeting will be preceded by meetings Aug. 14 to 16 at Calvary sponsored by the Lutheran Coalition for Renewal, founded in 2005 and linked to the NALC.
