New city clerk hired in Northome
The Northome City Council met in special session April 13 to conduct interviews and hire a new city clerk who will take the place of current city clerk Tom Bonar, who submitted his resignation last month.
Three finalists for the job were interviewed. There was a fourth finalist who withdrew prior to the meeting. Those being interviewed were Connie White, Jodi Osufsen and by phone, Bonnie Zwirn.
Councilman Jerry Struss made a motion to approve hiring Connie White as clerk/treasurer to start as soon as possible at $12.80 per hour with full-time benefits. Following a discussion, the council voted unanimously to hire White.
The proposed bid specifications were presented by Mayor Larry Salmonson.
Following a short discussion, the council voted to approve the library roof bid specs as presented and then they voted to approve advertising for bids for the library roof project. The council decided that the bids are to be received by 2 p.m. May 4.
After another discussion, the council voted unanimously to approve the subordination agreement before adjourning for the evening.
