Other regional elections include:

-- Beef Research and Promotion Council -- District 1, Darrin Arveson of Pennington County.

-- Barley Research and Promotion Council -- District 1, Gayle Field of Marshall County; District 2, Brent Gullekson of Polk County.

-- Soybean Research and Promotion Council -- District 1, 2 and 3, Gregory LeBlanc of Polk County.

All board members will serve three-year terms.

Minnesota's commodity research and promotion councils play a role in coordinating the ongoing development and promotion of farm products such as grains and meats, the Ag Department said. Through commodity council elections, producers have a say in how their check-off dollars are invested.
