BISMARCK (AP) -- North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven says a former Fargo journalist is doing well after her release from an Iranian prison.
Hoeven says he talked with Roxana Saberi by phone on Friday morning. Saberi and her family are spending some time in Vienna after leaving Iran on Thursday.
Hoeven says Saberi wanted to extend thanks "to everyone in North Dakota" for supporting her and her family the last four months. Saberi was arrested in late January and convicted of spying for the United States. An appeals court later suspended the sentence.
The governor says he will meet with Saberi early next week to begin planning for a welcome home celebration.
