NCHS holds Biggest Loser IV competition

North Country Health Services held its Biggest Loser IV competition from Nov. 20 to May 21. The contest is based on the reality television show of the same name.

NCHS employee Jane Miller spearheaded the competition at the hospital.

Fifty-six participants competed for six months, paying $60 each and weighing in weekly. Although the winnings were calculated by percentages, a total of 425.2 pounds were lost by participants.

The winners were Debbie Graves, who lost 30.24 percent of her body weight and won $1,615.00; Jessica Hanschen, who lost 20.40 percent body weight and won $969; and Dawn Hinrichs, who lost 13.76 percent body weight and won $646.00

Biggest Loser V, the next six-month competition, has started and will end Dec. 3.
