A Naytahwaush man who Moorhead police call a "person of interest" in the investigation of a double homicide at an apartment complex last month appeared Monday in Becker County District Court.

Tracy Alan Zornes, 38, is being held on $250,000 bail in Becker County on 2008 charges of possessing a gun as a felon and first-degree burglary.

He's accused of stealing a truck, a four-wheeler, five guns and a computer from a rural home near Callaway, Minn., on June 20, 2007, according to court records. Bemidji police say they found the laptop computer in his possession in a traffic stop that fall, and a cigarette on the scene had DNA that matched Zornes' DNA, prosecutors allege in the court complaint.

An omnibus hearing was set on Monday for April 12.

Zornes was arrested on March 4 in a rural area of Mahnomen County after Moorhead police requested the public's help in finding him on Feb. 22, three days after a fire at a three-unit apartment building near Concordia College.

Megan Londo, 25, of Naytahwaush, and John Cadotte, 20, of Moorhead, were found dead at the scene of the fire, and police think both were killed. They haven't said if they believe the fire caused the deaths.

Police have repeatedly said Zornes is a "person of interest," not a suspect, in the homicides.
