NARFE honors 10 members with distinguished member awards
Bemidji Chapter 1049 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association or NARFE honored 10 of its members at its recent monthly meeting with the presentation of distinguished member awards.
To qualify, members must be at least 85 years of age and a member of NARFE for 20 years.
Members honored this year were Delmer Anderson, Ginny Anderson, Lawrence Carpenter, Arvid Dalby, Hebert Denny, Harold Fruetel, Willard Leaf, Delbert Lindseth, Lelander Peterka and Tom Vanbrunt. Each received a certificate along with a lapel pin from the national office.
The Bemidji chapter has 153 members. NARFE is a non-profit organization dedicated to informing, protecting and enhancing member benefits. Meetings are held at 11:30 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Bemidji American Legion.
Active or retired federal retirees are eligible, and the chapter encourages them to join.
