Nancy Greminger

Nancy R. Greminger, 90, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at her home, with her family at her side.

Nancy Ruth Wickstrom was born to Ella Morris on Sept. 21, 1917 in Kensal, N.D. Six weeks later, she was adopted by Fred and Maud Wickstrom of Detroit Lakes. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1936. In 1941 she graduated from business college in Pasadena, Calif.

Nancy married Lavern J. Greminger June 29, 1944 in Ren-ton, Wash. She was an accom-plished pianist and organist. She liked gardening, crocheting, em-broidery, rock picking, puzzle books and was an avid reader of novels. In 1962, she and Lavern moved to Detroit Lakes, where they lived on a hobby farm five miles south of town. In 1968 they started Meadow Lake Camp Ground. Nancy and Lavern trav-eled throughout the United States, spending their winters in Califor-nia, Arizona, Texas and Washing-ton. Lavern died Feb. 18, 1997.

Nancy is survived by four daughters, Irene (James) Hazelton of Callaway, Kathy (Ron) Suttell of Tacoma, Wash., Jeanette (David) Hinjosa of Phoeniz, Ariz., Sharon and her pets, Taylor and Sadie of Detroit Lakes; nine grandchildren; two great grand-children; a sister, Marie Grosk-reutz of Salt Lake City, Utah; as well as several nieces and neph-ews.

In addition to her husband, Nancy was preceded in death a son, Frederick, her parents and a brother, Max Wickstrom.

Friends may call between 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Holy Rosary Church, Detroit Lakes; there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.. The visitation continues at the church for one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.

A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
