R. Muriel Keaveny ,82, of Bemidji, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at her granddaughters home in Coon Rapids, MN .
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am Nov. 23, 2013 at the Cease Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN with Terry Anderson officiating. There will be a luncheon following the service at United Methodist Church at 9th Street & Beltrami Avenue NW.
Muriel was born January 3, 1931 in Breckenridge, MN, the daughter of John and Emma (Cooper) Keaveny. She was raised and educated in Tintah, MN. She was married to Bill DeMars for 43 years. Muriel moved to Bemidji in 1996 when she retired. She was a dedicated student of the Course in Miracles for 35 years and has been an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 40 years. Muriel wrote for the Pioneer Newspaper for years under the headline "Life Is Good", which is how she felt about her life.
She is survived by son - Michael DeMars; daughter Lizabeth DeMarais; son Timothy (Sandra) DeMars; granddaughter Jaime (Brandon) Galbreath; 2 great grandchildren Dylan and Mariah; brother - Tim (Mary) Keaveny; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Margret Adams; parents John and Emma Keaveny.
