A warrant has been issued for John Bemis on charges of child neglect. Investigators say Bemis disappeared Jan. 7 with some personal items, including a large amount of cash. They say he also left his job without explanation.

Bemis' ex-wife, Marie Majerle, was staying with him and their daughter when she was accused of shooting her current husband while he was in the sauna at home in Cloquet on Jan. 6. Richard Majerle survived the shooting.

The Duluth News Tribune (http://bit.ly/VAE1Nx) reports police say Bemis is not a suspect in the shooting case at this time.
