More features wanted, enough on event center
Once again the Pioneer has opted to feature more of the same, rather than focusing on what the truly creative and caring people of the community of Bemidji are doing.
For instance, the incredibly beautiful and educational pageant honoring the water, lakes and rivers that support and sustain everyone that was presented free on the shore of Lake Bemidji recently with hundreds in attendance. This show, with the assistance of the Heart of the Beast Puppet Theatre was a prime example of how folks of all ages, ethnicities and cultures can come together to express their most heartfelt desires for the future of Bemidji and the planet.
Just a few steps away, the Mask & Rose Theatre group presented an energetic and creative rendition of Shakespeare's "As You Like It" with lots of local talent and dedicated people providing high quality entertainment on the shores of our beautiful lake.
Thank you to all who gave their time and talents to bring us these experiences. We do not need to hear more about the monstrosity on the other side of the lake when so much good is happening right on the waterfront. A feature article and a few more pictures about these creative events would have been a much more welcome cover to the Sunday Pioneer!
