Moorhead outguns Bemidji

MOORHEAD – The Bemidji coaching staff felt that the best chance the Lumberjacks had of defeating Moorhead Saturday was to use a three-quarter court press on defense and to fire the 3-point shots on offense.

For a half the tactic worked as Moorhead led only 49-40 but the Spuds took control in the second half and went on to down BHS 111-90.

Bemidji’s main offensive tool was the 3-pointer as it fired 65 times from beyond the arc and hit 18 of them.

Jeremiah Huseby canned five 3-pointers and Joe Strong, Richard Seado and James Hendricks hit four.

Bemidji (1-15) returns to action Thursday at home against Duluth East.
