Moorhead bust yields $25,000 in drugs and cash, police say

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Moorhead police seized a cache of street drugs worth more than $13,000, along with more than $12,000 in cash, during a bust Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

A narcotics investigation led officers to pull over a car, and a search of the vehicle yielded methamphetamine and cash, police said.

The two people in the car, Melissa Ann Christiansen, 30, and Harry Samuel Desjarlait, 34, were arrested. Soon afterward, a search of their Moorhead home resulted in more drug seizures, police said.

In all, officers found $12,642 in cash, 19.8 grams of meth, 18.6 grams of heroin, 0.8 grams of marijuana and prescription pills, police said.

Christiansen and Desjarlait, who are married, were being held at the Clay County Jail.
