MnDOT announces project phase two
The second phase of the Minnesota Department of Transportation state Highway 197 and U.S. Highway 71 project will get underway Monday, June 20, between Carr Lake Road and Beltrami County Road 2.
Project Supervisor Larry Randall said the project is scheduled to be finished by Sept. 2.
Josh Weikert, project manager, said traffic will be switched to the east lanes Thursday, June 23.
The east half of the Horace May Elementary School parking lot will be removed and turned into a frontage road. At the Cenex and Pete's Place driveways south of U.S. Highway 2, there will be four through lanes plus four turning lanes.
