Missy Thomas: ‘Celebrate Service’ recognized by National Volunteer Week, 2013
Northwoods Caregivers are proud to recognize National Volunteer Week 2013, “Celebrate Service.” Sponsored by the Points of Light Institute and HandsOn Network – the nation’s largest volunteer network –National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 and has grown exponentially each year, with thousands of volunteer projects and special events scheduled throughout the week.
This year, National Volunteer Week falls between April 21-27 and is a chance for us to honor those who dedicate themselves to taking action and bettering our communities.
It’s also about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities – and to make a difference for a neighbor.
Northwoods Caregivers provides many opportunities for you to get involved.
Volunteers are needed to help seniors and disabled individuals get to medical appointments, help with grocery shopping or even around-the-house chores.
We would like to thank our incredible volunteers for the thousands of hours of services they provided to those in need.
If you would like to find out more about how you can share your gifts, please contact Northwoods Caregivers by calling 333-8262 or visiting the website at northwoodscaregivers.org. With your help, we can connect, enrich and empower the lives of Northwoods individuals and families.
