Mississippi pilings to be discussed at county board meeting

BEMIDJI — The Beltrami County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday to discuss the pilings between Lake Bemidji and Lake Irving.
The issue was last discussed at the board’s Sept. 4 meeting when the board questioned whose responsibility it would be to remove the pilings.
The pilings have caused damage to boaters passing through the river and because of the low water have been more of an issue this year than in the past.
After reaching out to the city of Bemidji, the issue has been identified as a mutual concern.
The issue will be discussed at the board’s 3 p.m. work session.
