The family of Darren Chock, 19, reported to Sheriff Phil Hodapp that they had located Chock’s body not far from the main area searched earlier in the week.

Deputies conducting another search nearby immediately responded.

At this time, no further investigation is needed, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Funeral arrangements for Chock are pending with Olson-Schartz Funeral Home in Bemidji.

On Tuesday, Chock had called 911 at 1:30 p.m. indicating he was suicidal.

Deputies located Chock’s car in the woods about 5 miles southeast of Tenstrike, Minn. Trackers followed a track made by Chock through the woods until it disappeared on a snowmobile trail.

They were joined by other groups, including the State Patrol, U.S. Border Patrol, the Paul Bunyan Amateur Radio club, other volunteers and family members.
