Minnesota worker killed in N.D. construction zone mishap
MANVEL, N.D. - A 58-year-old worker from Clear Lake, Minn., was killed this morning in a construction zone accident on Interstate 29 in Grand Forks County.
It happened about 8 a.m. on northbound I-29, just south of Manvel, said Grand Forks Sheriff's Lt. Gary Grove.
The male worker was operating a concrete grinder, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The man became trapped under the front of the machine and died on scene.
OSHA will investigate the incident and the Highway Patrol will assist in the investigation.
The contractor involved was Diamond Surface Inc., out of Rogers, Minn., the Highway Patrol said.
The name of the victim iss being withheld pending notification of relatives.
